Hello Users,
Hope you are enjoying Gopsop.

Many of you has been requesting about uploading their own Avatar. Well, we thought about it and we thought deep. And we decided to present something new to the users. Gravatar is not a new technology. The word Gravatar stands for globally recognized avatar, which is introduced by Automattic. Automattic is widely known for their blogging site wordpress.com

Gravatar lets one to add avatar on their email address, which can be used on Gravatar enabled websites without any hassle. That is why we adopted the solution for our users. Now you can choose your own avatar through Gravatar.

Enjoy Gopsoping :)

Lookback

March 26th, 2008 by Hasin Hayder

Well, a community site never created in a day or week or in a month. I still remember those numbers of sleepless nights that Emran and I spent to create Somewherein Blog. You cannot create a community site just with your extreme skill in development, it requires passion, it requires love and it requires you to be able to dream. After dreaming for thousand days, spending sleepless nights, and by taking the time which was deserved  for your family members  a community is born.

I remember how we have started gopsop. Just to develop this site, I coded Orchid, my framework for PHP5 developers for last 7 months. This framework is designed to be used as the core framework of gopsop - a stunning community site. I let my son Afif miss his papa, spent hours after hours while my wife and my son deserved that time from me.  Omi, my friend, together we have spent many evenings planning this site. A lot of friend and well wishers helped us to debug, to add feature and to make it finally happen.

I am grateful to my partners in GopSop Omi Azad,  Sonny Aman and Anupom Syam for spending their time with me and for sharing the pain together.

Thanks again to all of you, the well wishers and users of gopsop.

Finally!!! Gopsop’s 1st Private Beta Released

March 26th, 2008 by Omi Azad

Few days back I told you that we are going to release the 1st Private Beta version of Gopsop soon. You don’t need to wait anymore. Few moments ago we released Gopsop and anyone can browse through the site now. The Beta URL is http://beta.gopsop.com

Though the site is open for all to visit, we still did not make the registration process open. That means we applied little restriction for the interested future subscribers. Let me explain a bit. We will pick some lucky guys and send them invitation codes through email. Both the email address and invitation code has to be used in the registration page to get registered on Gopsop.

Once someone is registered and starts Gopsoping, s/he will receive 2 more invitation codes to invite 2 more friend in the network. And this will go on and on.

Your friend did not send you any invitation code!!! Don’t worry, you can still request us directly for invitation code by writing down a comment on- http://dev.gopsop.com/invitation-code-request/

Happy Gopsoping :)

Jabber Integrated with GopSop

March 23rd, 2008 by Hasin Hayder

Anupom done this part for us. We just finished integrating a jabber bot (bot@gopsop.com) with our gopsop service. So whenever a registered user add this bot to his jabber client and post a message, that message will be posted directly to his gopsop account.

We have tested this bot and it is working fine! - So happy gopsoping from your Messenger (Gtalk or any Jabber Client). Great job done, Anupom!

Note: Yahoo and MSN are coming soon!
